I used to think I knew everything anyone

I used to think I knew everything anyone needed to know about Nutrition. Several nutrition courses, Nursing school, experience, etc. So I decided to take Precision Nutrition’s (PN) Level 1 certification just to cement my knowledge.
Boy, was I naive.
We are COMPLICATED creatures. There’s more to think about than I’ll ever know.
So why do I think I can help you?
Because even though I’m not all knowing, I have resources. Fundamentals. I’ve partnered with PN: a company that has spent a decade of experience working with 40,000 + clients of both men and women of all ages. They’ve researched and created a curriculum that I am both happy and excited to coach through that has been shown to change lives.
So if you’re interested in doing something different and taking the slow route, please let me know. Send me a message or fill out an application on my website below. I hope to see you there.

Mindset Mondays — “Plan Long But Go Short”

Things always seem to get in the way of our goals. There are detours. De-railments. It’s important to be flexible enough to modify things along the way.

After all, success isn’t linear. It doesn’t just “appear”. It takes years. Sometimes decades. Building. Planning. Readjusting. So if it seems like things aren’t going your way, don’t get sidetracked. Know that it takes time and aim for your prize once more. http://ow.ly/i/yfCLK

So I have an experiment. See how many of these terms you’ve heard of before: “Calorie counting.” “Golden hour.” “Interval training.” “Low carb.” “Meal plan.” “Metabolic workout.” “High protein.”
It goes on and on. It’s a lot right?
Well what if I told you it didn’t have to be this way?
That’s where habit based coaching comes in. You learn one habit and practice it for two weeks. Each day (or every couple days, etc) you go online and watch, listen, and/or read your daily 5-10 min lesson to learn a little more. All while living your normal everyday life. That’s it.
No meal plans and no calorie counting. Sounds easy right? It can be. But life can get in the way. That’s why I’m here. To help you re-focus and find solutions. No yelling or shouting. No punishments for having a bad day. Just experimenting. Trying things out. We find out how your body works and create your owner’s manual. You’re a unique individual. So stop following cookie cutter routines and meal plans! I’ll be here when you’re ready!

Mindset Mondays — What are your goals?

Mindset Mondays — What are your goals?
So I heard a guy named Thomas Plummer speak at the Perform Better summit about making a career in fitness. There was a moment when he said that most personal trainers last only 4 years. FOUR YEARS. Then they quit. Why???
He said their goals were too small.
“You need to make a goal so big it scares you. […] Every 3 months I spend 3 hours at Starbucks and write down my goals.”
So today, what are your goals? Are they written down?
A couple of you know that my goal is to one day compete on American Ninja Warrior. It scares me A LITTLE to post this because now you all know. What if I don’t get on? What if I fail on the first obstacle? It’s a TOUGH course. But I continue to push myself because I have this goal.
So do this. Write down one big goal. Even if it seems impossible. And then plan. http://ow.ly/i/yd7LW
